Certified Nursing Assistant - LTACH Medical Telemetry, Full Time, Nights

Perform basic patient care. Observe and report abnormal occurrences or changes in patient condition. Clean, stock and maintain supplies for the patient unit.

Major Job FunctionsThe following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below. In addition, specific functions may change from time to time:Assist in admission of patients to the unit including orientation to the unit, hospital routine and patient care equipmentRespond to needs of patients with direct assistance when able or by reporting patient need to appropriate personAssist with implementation of nursing care plan by carrying out delegated patient care tasksAssist in maintaining patient safety including proper use of equipment and suppliesAccess to medication/supply room to retrieve patient care items for patient care use as applicable per unitMaintain well-stocked, clean patient environmentActively participate in cost containment and assist in accurate charging for patient servicesParticipate in educational and Performance Improvement activitiesPerform additional skills, which may include, but are not limited to, phlebotomy, 12 lead EKG, waived lab testing per unit competencyActively demonstrate responsibility concerning customer satisfaction, patient throughput and hospital functional capacity through compliance with the Hospital Innovation Project (HIP)Other duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsThe following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:Education and Formal Training: High school diploma or equivalent requiredNursing Assistant II certification requiredCurrent Nursing Assistant II registration with North Carolina Board of Nursing required and Nursing Assistant I with the Division of Facility Services requiredWork

Experience as Nursing Assistant I preferredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English languageExcellent guest relations skillsVerbal and written skills requiredAbility to accept supervision from a multidisciplinary teamFlexible approach to work tasks and schedulesAble to grasp new skills and techniquesHas basic knowledge of age-specific considerations for patients servedHas basic computer skillsPhysical
