Days, EveningsDEPARTMENT: Anesthesiology / Medical Staff Practice OpportunityJoin an experienced Anesthesiology team providing a broad range of anesthesia services in an independent CRNA practice environment. Practice highlights include:Independent CRNA scope of practiceDiverse surgical and procedural case mixAnesthesia services supporting general surgery, OB/GYN, orthopedics, urology, and endoscopyRegional anesthesia, including ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocksObstetric anesthesia, including epidural and intrathecal placementShared call rotation, including weekends and holidays1:7 call structureIntegrated clinic and hospital settingLevel III Trauma Center Emergency Department with historically more than 16,000 visits annually Scope of PracticeCRNAs provide comprehensive anesthesia care throughout the perioperative period.
Responsibilities include:Performing pre-anesthetic patient evaluationsSelecting appropriate anesthetic agents and techniquesInserting intravenous catheters and invasive monitoring cathetersPerforming endotracheal intubation and extubationPerforming arterial punctures and interpreting arterial blood gasesMonitoring and managing patients' physiologic responses to anesthesiaPerforming ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocksPerforming epidural and intrathecal placement for obstetric anesthesiaResponding to emergencies throughout the hospitalCollaborating with physicians, nursing staff, surgical teams, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team to provide safe, high-quality patient care QualificationsRequired QualificationsGraduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia educational programCurrent certification or recertification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA)Current or ability to obtain Minnesota APRN licensureCurrent or ability to obtain Minnesota RN licensure, as applicableAbility to meet Grand Itasca Medical Staff credentialing and privileging requirementsCurrent BLS, ACLS, and other certifications as required for clinical privilegesPreferred QualificationsPrevious CRNA experience in a hospital-based practiceExperience providing regional and obstetric anesthesiaStrong clinical judgment and ability to practice independentlyExcellent communication and collaboration skills About Grand ItascaGrand Itasca is a non-profit organization with a clear vision of being the leader in transforming rural health care by achieving the highest levels of quality, access, and value.
