• In addition to normal Scrub Tech duties, serves as the primary resource, support and leader for the assigned specialty. Responsibilities
• Serves as the first as primary contact for the needs of the surgeons within the assigned specialty
• Ensures all necessary resources (supplies, implants, equipment, and instrumentation) are available for all scheduled procedures within the assigned specialty
• Serves as the primary contact with vendor representatives
• Participates in both annual operating and capital budgeting specific to assigned specialty
• Serves as a preceptor to co-workers new to the specialty
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
• Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned Requirements and

• Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist program or 2 years' experience in an operating room as a Surgical Scrub Tech and/or LPN or military training required
• 2 years’ experience in an operating room preferred
• Surgical Technician Certification (CST)
• BLS required
• Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism are imperative to success
• May be required to work outside of normally scheduled hours Working Conditions
• Exposure to needles, blood and body fluids, etc
• Must be able to assist in patient transfer
• Must be able to maintain a standing position
• Must be able to reach arms above or below shoulder height
