Certifications
✓Basic Life Skills Certification (BLS)
✓must obtain within the first 30 days of hire into the role
✓Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery- Certified (TS-C) of Certified First Assistant (CFA)
Education
✓High School Diploma or GED
✓Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program
✓High degree of responsiveness to changing schedules and priorities throughout the day
Qualifications
✓Knowledge of clinical standards and practices of surgical technology
✓Ability to use hand quickly with precision
✓Effective communicator; Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
✓Good listening skills to comprehend and quickly respond to the needs of the surgeon and surgical team
✓Keen attention to detail
✓Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships
✓This role will interact closely various departments and committees within the hospital
✓Physical Capabilities
✓Work is demanding and requires ability to push, pull, and lift, up to 50 pounds.
✓Requires lots of walking and extended periods of time standing and/or sitting.
✓Effective communication with physicians and OR staff is critical.
✓Near visual acuity required to work with documentation, instrument gauges, dials, and equipment indicators
