✓Ecclesiastical Endorsement or Ordination/Commissioning (Required)
Certified Chaplain by the Board of Chaplaincy Certification Inc. (BCCI) through the Association of Professional Chaplains, the National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC), or a similar group with the goal of obtaining certification (Preferred within 2 Years)
It is highly preferred that the Chaplain be certified by the Board of Chaplaincy Certification Inc. (BCCI) through the Association of Professional Chaplains, the National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC), or a similar group.
Education
✓Master's Degree Related Field of Study from accredited theological seminary (Required)
✓Must have a master’s degree from an accredited theological seminary along with completion of 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education.
Qualifications
✓Completion of 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education (Required)
✓Working knowledge of Windows Operating System
✓Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
✓Crisis intervention, spiritual care, spiritual assessment, problem solving, critical thinking
3+ years’ experience providing spiritual care in clinical hospital setting (Preferred)
Experience with end-of-life, trauma, bereavement, pediatric or adult care (Preferred)
This Chaplain role is a clinical service for the pediatric palliative care unit, providing last rights, end of life support and family services during profoundly challenging life events for our pediatric patients and families, located in our Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. preferred
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years’ experience providing spiritual care in a clinical hospital setting, as well as experience with end-of-life, trauma, or bereavement. preferred
Previous work with seriously ill pediatric patients is highly preferred.
This position is part-time, 20 hours per week. preferred
