In addition, specific functions may change from time to time:Completes daily patient assignmentsRounds with the physiciansServe as resource to staff nurses, nursing assistants, monitors techs and unit secretariesAssists with procedures, checks ordersResponsible for daily QC and equipment checks on unitEvaluates daily patient acuityFocuses on patient flow and expediting patient flowResponsible for the over site of quality of patient careAssists with clinical education of staff members in the absence of Clinical Educator/Preceptor.

Interfaces with Care Coordinator and discharge planningExpected to take patient assignment when other staffing options have been exhaustedExpedites testing, admission and dischargesImplement process as defined by the Hospital Innovation Project (HIP)Other duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsThe following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:Education and Formal Training: Associate’s degree in nursing requiredBachelor’s degree in nursing preferredLicensed as RN by the NC Board of Nursing or qualifies to function under another Compact State RN licenseUnit Description:Main Emergency Department is a 64-bed adult level III trauma unit.

Working on a track schedule. Patient ratio 1:3. Our Care team consists of Registered Nurses, a Clinical Educator, Nursing Assistant's, Unit Secretary, Resource Nurses, Physicians, Physician’s Assistant, Case Managers, Physical Therapists, Dieticians and Occupational and Speech Therapists, Charge NursesNew Graduate Nurses are accepted and welcome!
