Provides day to day leadership for nursing staff. Responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the operating room and other areas of the perioperative services for all patient population. Supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

Must have a high level of interpersonal and communication skills and be a demonstrated team player. Must demonstrate reliability and accountability to team members and patients.

• Direct delivery of care to the assigned patient population in a professional manner, utilizing the nursing process in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team.
• Assign duties, examine work for conformance to policies and procedures and oversee flow of patients through department.
• Provide successful organizational and administrative operation of the shift in accordance with current guidelines and assure the highest degree of quality patient care is maintained at all times.
• Assess a patient's physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs and design and implements plans of care to meet the identified needs
• Provide safe, quality, efficient patient care across the lifespan, with particular attention to the patient's age-related cognitive, emotional, physical, and functional needs.
• Collaborate professionally and effectively with members of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Provide education to patients and families that is current, evidence-based, and appropriate to the identified learning needs.
• Demonstrate accountability for own decisions and behaviors, and exercising critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and ethical decision-making in all aspects of professional practice.
• Serve as an advocate for patients and families' needs, preferences, and concerns.
