Role Overview As a Chef at Henry Ford Health, you will play a vital role in coordinating the activities of Cooks and Food Service Assistants to prepare and cook high-quality meals for hospital patients, staff, and visitors. Coordinate the activities of Cooks and Food Service Assistants in preparing and cooking foods for hospital patients, staff, and visitors. Review daily preparation and production plans and menus, implementing adjustments as needed. Ensure high-quality products are provided in accordance with the overall menu plans of the department.
Maintain knowledge of quantity food production techniques and health care food service policies, procedures, and recipes. Obtain and maintain required food safety certifications within 6 months of employment. Qualifications What You Will Need Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent.
Associates Degree in culinary arts, hotel restaurant institution management, or related field, or seven years of commensurate experience in restaurant, hotel, or healthcare operation. Five years of job-related experience. Certification by the Michigan Department of Public Health, The National Registry of Food Safety Professionals, Certified Food Safety Manager, or Servsafe Food Protection Manager Certification (or obtained within 6 months of employment).
