A Typical Day Performing advanced echocardiographic studies and specialized clinical procedures (60% scanning focus) with a heavy emphasis on Structural Heart, stress echocardiography, clinical research, and cardiac amyloid programs. Assisting Cardiologists directly with complex testing workflows while ensuring all examination results strictly meet facility quality assurance standards before final interpretation. Supervising and mentoring staff sonographers, providing direct technical oversight and support to elevate scanning accuracy across all patient populations.
Maintaining department Quality Assurance (QA) as set forth by ICAEL guidelines and actively driving the Medical Center’s Quality Improvement objectives. Assisting in the development of research protocols, department policies, educational materials, and scientific publications. Overseeing the staff continuing medical education (CME) program and coordinating sonography research projects to ensure team skills remain at the leading edge of medicine.
Providing strategic recommendations to the Medical Director and Administrative Director to enhance patient care and department advancement. Ensuring strict corporate and regulatory compliance, maintaining environment of care safety standards, and ensuring satisfactory review outcomes with NJSDOH and JCAHO. You proactively champion patient safety, environment of care standards, and ethical practice in every administrative and clinical decision. To be considered Bachelor's Degree required alongside graduation from an accredited Allied Health Cardiovascular Program. ARDMS or CCI Registration is required; an Advanced Cardiac Sonography credential is highly desired.
A minimum of 7 years of Adult Echo experience is required. Extensive clinical experience and training in Echocardiography with a proven emphasis on Structural Heart, stress echocardiography, clinical research protocols, and cardiac amyloid programs. Demonstrated leadership capability, including a track record of mentoring staff sonographers, developing quality assurance measures, and implementing clinical protocols.
