✓Expertise in child Life skills and practices.
✓Competent in computer functions, such as e-charting
1-2 years’ experience as a Child Life Specialist in a pediatric acute hospital/ED preferred
Spanish Speaking preferred
Additional Details preferred
Standing, sitting for up to 2 hours or more, bending, reaching overhead, stooping, climbing stairs, on hands and knees at times working with ped patients. Able to use a keyboard for an extended amount of time as well as rapid mental/hand/eye coordination preferred

About the role

The Child Life Specialist (CLS) provides support to both outpatient and inpatient areas of the hospital. The CLS will support patients with acute and chronic illnesses to promote their healthy growth and development, reduce anxiety and trauma and aid focusing on emotional adjustment to hospitalization. This relief position supports the current CL staff in providing coverage for sick and vacation.
