Licensure
✓Must hold current license to practice nursing in the State of Michigan.
Education
✓Bachelors degree in Nursing OR
✓Associates degree or diploma in Nursing and a Masters degree or higher in Nursing
Qualifications
✓Required Educational Requirement; applicant must meet one of the following:
✓Minimum 3 years nursing experience caring for patients with Pediatric Congenital Heart Disease
✓1-2 years experience caring for pulmonary hypertension and/or single ventricle patients
✓1 year of ambulatory care RN experience
✓Must be detail oriented, organized, and be able to manage rapidly changing outpatient scheduling issues.
✓Must demonstrate a high level of independent problem solving and decision-making abilities.
✓Must reflect a professional appearance and demeanor and possess excellent customer service skills.
✓knowledge of prior authorization process for medications, working with specialty pharmacies for medications and obtaining medication access for patients (enrollment process), working with insurance companies to obtain coverage for medications, coordinating labs and monitoring labs for patients
✓Nursing Specific Info
1-2 years of ICU experience preferred
Demonstrated understanding of hospital organization and processes. preferred
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in planning, developing, and implementing complex Continuous Quality Improvement activities. preferred
Demonstrated active participation in formal unit improvement committees including but not limited to Professional Practice Councils, or other committee or QI work. preferred
