You’ll need
Licensure
✓Certification by the State of New York as a Certified Dietitian/Nutritionist NYS – certification within 12 months, if the applicant is not registered upon hire.
Certifications
✓Must be credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
Education
✓Must have bachelor’s degree, with completion of an ADA approved internship.
✓if the applicant is not registered upon hire, an ACEND verification statement indicating completion of an accredited/approved supervised practice program in dietetics is required.
Qualifications
✓Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) within 6 months
✓Knowledge of clinical nutrition with emphasis on nutritional needs of the patients.
✓Excellent counseling skills and the ability to relate to a multiethnic community and varied learning levels
✓Good critical thinking skills to be able to make fast and accurate assessment of patients.
1 year of acute care experience with knowledge of medical nutrition therapy. preferred
