Education
✓Current University of Arkansas System employees, including student employees and graduate assistants, need to log in to Workday via MyApps.
Bachelor’s degree or High School diploma plus 4 years formal interpreting experience preferred
Qualifications
✓Able to follow oral and written instructions and communicate with others effectively.
✓Strong computer/basic keyboard skills, telephone skills, and general knowledge of office machines including printers.
✓Excellent customer relations skills.
✓Specializes in assisting our Spanish speaking patients.
✓Analyze patient’s responsibility by understanding verification of assets, family size, citizenship status and FPL.
✓Keys Medicaid cases into DHS eligibility system.
✓Retrieves eligibility information from different data bases.
✓Submits weekly spreadsheets of cases in need of additional review.
✓Knowledge of complete Medicaid interview process.
✓successfully completes annual competency test and any additional competency testing and training required to validate required skills.
✓Determines eligibility for Spanish and English speaking patients for Medicaid, EMA and financial assistance programs available.
✓Annual TB Screening, Criminal Background Check
✓This position is subject to pre-employment screening (criminal background, drug testing, and/or education verification).
✓A criminal conviction or arrest pending adjudication alone shall not disqualify an applicant except as provided by law.
✓Any criminal history will be evaluated in relationship to job responsibilities and business necessity.

Two years of experience interpreting and translating, preferably in a medical setting, including one year medical, Medicaid, and clerical experience preferred
Experience in healthcare insurance and billing. preferred
Knowledge in advanced medical terminology and medical coding. preferred
Oral and written fluency in English and Spanish. preferred
