Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing required, Master of Science in Nursing preferred. Current state of Virginia RN license or compact license required and BLS provider certification is required. BLS instructor certification preferred.
Requires 3 years of applied clinical experience as an RN in a health-related field or as a Clinical Educator or Instructor. A master’s degree in nursing may be substituted for 2 years of required experience or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience. Mental Health Nursing experience preferred.
Advanced computer skills in Microsoft office. Knowledge of Audiovisual equipment set up. Physical
The physical requirements for this position include being able to stand, squat, kneel, sit and lie on the floor for long periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. The incumbent must be physically capable of providing direct total physical care to unpredictable, potentially violent, mentally ill patients as necessary including lifting, supporting, running towards or away from areas where problems are occurring and pushing and pulling equipment such as wheelchairs, stretchers and beds.
Ability to successfully perform the facility crisis intervention training, CPR.
