You’ll need
Licensure
✓Active California licensure as a Registered Nurse.
Certifications
✓Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications issued by the American Heart Association required.
Education
✓Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required.
✓Must show proof of acceptance into an accredited Clinical Nurse Specialist program, degree must be completed within five years post hire date.
Qualifications
✓Exception to completion date maybe granted for extenuating circumstances.
✓Must provide quarterly progress reports from CNS program.
✓Minimum three years of pediatric nursing experience required.
✓Demonstrates advanced knowledge and clinical skill of pediatric nursing, from birth to young adult.
✓Ability to apply theoretical concepts to clinical practice and continually expands knowledge base and clinical skills with a focus in area of specialty in all aspects of pediatric patient population served.
✓Advanced knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation required.
✓Always exhibits professional behavior and works calmly and responds courteously when under pressure.
✓use computer, printer and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, electronic medical record, electronic event reporting program
✓troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment
