✓Requirements
Licensure
✓Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietician Nutritionist (RDN) through the Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR)
✓Must possess current licensure as required by state board where services will be provided:
✓WV: Licensed Dietitian through the West Virginia Board of Licensed Dietitians
Certifications
✓Membership with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Education
✓Master’s degree in Nutrition or related field.
Qualifications
✓Five (5) years of nutrition experience in a clinical setting
✓Leadership roles held within the state dietetic association.
✓Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to teach classes including dietitians, food service workers and the public. Must be able to read and write in the medical record and survey patient units.
✓Basic computer skills required.
✓Must be able to respond to changes in work volume throughout the shift.
✓Must be able to work Saturdays and some holidays. May need to attend a meeting in the evening on occasion.
✓Must be able to interact with co-workers, patients, family and other members of the medical team in a positive manner
✓Must keep up to date on all professional literature in the field of nutrition by reading journals and joining list serves. Must have the ability to create and interpret schedules for staff.
✓Requires ability to manage staff effectively, including evaluations, scheduling and disciplinary actions.
