The Cardiovascular Perfusionist conducts extracorporeal circulation and ensures the safe management of physiologic functions during any medical procedure in which it is necessary to artificially support or temporarily replace a patient's circulatory or respiratory functions, such as in open heart surgery or other heart procedures. The incumbent in this position will support the mission, vision, values and strategic initiatives of MWHC Health System and must demonstrate a commitment to quality service to patients, physicians, associates and the public.

Support the Cardiovascular team during medical procedures by Selecting appropriate equipment and techniques to be used during procedures, in consultation with the physician Administering blood products, medications and controlling the temperature of patients during surgery. Monitoring equipment during surgical procedures, making adjustments as needed to ensure proper blood pressure and flow during the surgery Purchasing equipment and supplies as necessary Participating in quality improvement initiatives
Bachelor’s degree required Graduate of an accredited perfusion program required ABCP Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) required OR ABCP Certification or Board Eligible, required Ability to work effectively in emergency situations and under stress Ability to work cooperatively / collaboratively as part of a team, developing productive working relationships with diverse groups of people MWHC will not discriminate in its employment practices due to an applicant's race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, and veteran or disability status (EOE).
