What We're Looking ForClinical Physician Executive – Critical Care & Pulmonary ServicesNovant Health is seeking a Clinical Physician Executive, Critical Care & Pulmonary Services to provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for critical care and inpatient/outpatient pulmonary programs across the Triad Region. This physician leader will partner with executive and clinical leadership to advance quality outcomes, support program growth, drive operational excellence, and ensure exceptional patient care delivery across multiple hospital settings.
The Clinical Physician Executive will play a key role in developing and executing regional strategy, fostering physician engagement, leading quality and safety initiatives, and supporting the continued growth and advancement of critical care and pulmonary services. Key ResponsibilitiesProvide clinical and operational leadership for critical care and pulmonary services across the Triad RegionPartner with system and regional leadership to develop and execute strategic plans, operational priorities, and growth initiativesLead efforts to improve quality, patient safety, patient experience, and clinical outcomesSupport the development and implementation of evidence-based best practices and standardized care modelsCollaborate with physicians, nursing, pharmacy, and administrative leaders to optimize care delivery and care transitionsDrive operational excellence, resource utilization, and performance improvement initiativesBuild and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organizationSupport physician recruitment, retention, engagement, and professional developmentLead regional provider meetings and foster collaboration among critical care and pulmonary teamsChampion Novant Health's mission, values, diversity, inclusion, and culture of belongingPosition StructureThe Clinical Physician Executive role combines clinical practice and leadership responsibilities.
Required Education, Training & Certification:MD or DO from an accredited medical schoolFellowship training in:Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine, orInternal Medicine/Critical Care MedicineBoard Certified in:Critical Care Medicine (CCM) and/or Pulmonary MedicineRequired Experience5+ years of ICU Medical Director experienceDemonstrated involvement in quality and patient safety initiativesExperience leading multidisciplinary critical care teamsCommittee leadership experienceExperience with throughput and capacity management initiativesSepsis program involvement or oversightExperience developing and implementing care models or clinical strategy initiativesPreferred ExperienceECMO experience or exposureCardiac Critical Care experienceAdvanced bronchoscopy experienceTele-ICU experienceClinical research involvementOutpatient pulmonary practice experienceAdvanced degree such as MBA, MHA, or MPHAbout Novant Health's Triad Region: Novant Health’s Triad Region is comprised of five hospitals, including Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center, the region’s tertiary referral center, and four community-based hospitals that provide high quality, patient-centered care close to home.
