  • Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital strives to provide high quality, state of the art, acute psychiatric care to our pediatric population in Washington Heights, Inwood and the surrounding areas. Our diverse patient population spans a wide range of cultural, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds. DESC provides care to families that come from marginalized and underserved, lower socioeconomic status backgrounds, primarily those that identify as Latinx and African American. Many of our patients have not had previous mental health services. DESC serves as an outpatient crisis program to stabilize youth within our community in need of psychiatric care, while simultaneously working with their parents, families and caregivers to enhance involvement in treatment.Clinical Psychologist - Diagnostic Evaluation Stabilization Center - Outpatient Behavioral Health Join a dynamic, multicultural, interdisciplinary behavioral health care team working with youth and their families/caretakers experiencing a behavioral health crisis. Clinicians provide diagnostic assessment, crisis stabilization and short-term individual psychotherapy, and collateral sessions in an outpatient setting for youth presenting with a range of anxiety, mood, and behavioral disorders as well as risk for suicide. Trauma-informed, culturally sensitive evidence-based comprehensive care is provided to strengthen relationships and build skills to positively impact health outcomes and future success. This position also includes providing consultation, training, and prevention work to both our partners within the hospital system and community providers and agencies.
