You’ll need
Certifications
Certification by the Society of Clinical Research Associates or the Association of Clinical Research Professionals. preferred
Education
BA/BS with biology or public health coursework included. preferred
Qualifications
✓HS graduation and sufficient experience and demonstrated skills to successfully perform the assigned duties and responsibilities; and/or equivalent experience/training.
Knowledge of medical terminology. preferred
Experience with electronic medical records. preferred
Experience with research tools such as REDCap and Qualtrics. preferred
Prior analytical and writing skills in a science/research environment. preferred
Understanding of patient population to create rapport and a relationship, while giving insight into what is realistic and appropriate for patient participation. preferred
Fluency in the usage of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) online systems for the submission, renewal, and modification of research protocols. preferred
Knowledge of UCSF and departmental policies for dealing with research payments and reimbursements preferred
patient safety and confidentiality preferred
packing/shipping infectious substances preferred
database building/analysis, and data management within some of the following platforms: Access, Stata, SASS/ SPSS, and Teleform. preferred

About the role
The Clinical Research Coordinator will work independently or under general direction by the Clinical Research Supervisor and/or Principal Investigator (PI) to manage and coordinate research protocols within the Department of Surgery Clinical Research Core.
