✓Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of California (LCSW)
Certifications
✓UCSF Medical Center requires all Advanced Health Professionals (AHP) to be credentialed through its Medical Staff Services Office (MSSO) in order to practice and function in their clinical role.
✓This applies to both adult and pediatric AHPs in the inpatient and outpatient clinical settings at all UCSF Medical Center sites.
✓Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days and must be completed prior to the first working day.
Education
✓Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field from an accredited university
Qualifications
✓Minimum one year of clinical experience
✓Meets requirements for UCSF Medical Staff membership
✓Demonstrated ability to provide time limited therapy (e.g. CBT, DBT, TLDP, IPT, etc.) for anxiety and mood disorders
✓Demonstrated ability to provide supportive psychotherapy
✓Demonstrated ability to appropriately triage and manage mental health emergencies
✓Demonstrated ability to work effectively under supervision, seek and receive feedback, and maintain interest in continuing professional development
✓Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and humility
✓Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skill with an emphasis on tact and diplomacy and ability to interact with members from various levels of an organization
✓Demonstrated record of excellent reliability in attendance and punctuality
✓Demonstrated commitment to projects and strong initiative
✓Demonstrated effective organizational, planning, and scheduling abilities
✓Demonstrated ability to create collaborative alliances and promote teamwork
✓This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations
✓Excellent documentation and clinical skills
✓Ability to chart efficiently in electronic health record
Prior experience working in interdisciplinary teams preferred
Clinical experience in a large academic health system preferred
Knowledge of community resources preferred
Experience with populations diverse in ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation. preferred
Experience with severely mentally ill preferred

About the role

The University of California, San Francisco Department of Psychiatry is looking for innovative clinicians to join the Outpatient Behavioral Health and Psychiatry Clinic. The clinic is a large, multi-disciplinary clinic, primarily located at the Pritzker Building of UCSF, and it is the primary outpatient training site for UCSF psychiatry residents.
