Licensure
✓If athletic trainer, certification as an Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification (BOC) is required and must be licensed or in the process of obtaining licensure as an Athletic Trainer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
✓If physical therapist, must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Pennsylvania.
✓If physical therapy assistant, must possess current licensure to practice in Pennsylvania and must possess or eligible for Physical Therapy Assistant – Indirect Supervision License.
Possession of or eligible for a PA Direct Access License preferred.
Certifications
✓If personal trainer, must possess reputable personal training certification within 3 months of hire/transfer.
✓Meets the American Heart Association’s standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years.
Education
✓If Athletic Trainer, incumbent must possess a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited professional athletic training education program.
✓If Physical Therapist or Physical Therapy Assistant, incumbent must be a graduate of an approved accredited program for Physical Therapists or Physical Therapy Assistants.
✓If Personal Trainer, incumbent must be a high school or equivalent graduate. Preference is given to incumbents with an associate’s degree or higher in recreation and fitness or healthcare related studies.
Qualifications

✓Knowledge of clinical training principles and skills needed to provide quality patient care and treatment.

✓Must be able to react calmly and effectively during emergency situations.
✓Must have the ability to identify and analyze problems, prioritize and perform multiple tasks with little to no supervision.
✓Knowledge of basic office and clinical operations.
✓Valid Driver’s license.
Two years of athletic training, personal training, or physical therapy preferred.
