You’ll need
Certifications
✓Officer will be required to complete the IAHSS Basic Security Officer training within the first six months of being hired at the officer’s expense.
✓Once the officer has successfully completed the training, the Security Department will reimburse the officer the cost of the test.
Education
✓High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution and/or equivalent law enforcement/military experience and training, preferred.
Qualifications
✓Ability to read and comprehend hospital/departmental policies and procedures, criminal statutes, and regulatory publications. Ability to write legibly.
✓Sufficient interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all persons, regardless of position, ethnicity, sex, age, or economic status.
✓Sufficient interpersonal skills to consistently and equitably enforce the policies of the department and hospital and the ability to effectively intervene in interpersonal conflict.
✓Excellent customer services skills, and the ability to multitask.
✓Upon hire, the Officer will undergo a 4 to 6 week training cycle on the floor and in a classroom setting, under the supervision of a Senior Officer, working multiple shifts and locations for familiarization and experience and learning physical intervention and verbal techniques.
