You’ll need
Certifications
Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) certification is preferred.
Current CPR experience and/or Emergency First Aid training preferred.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree preferred or at least 1-2 years experience and training in a health related field – i.e. health education, nutrition, exercise science.
Qualifications

✓Experience working directly with community organizations, partners, or populations.
✓Strong project coordination, communication, and organizational skills.
✓Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal direction.
✓Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
✓Ability to work in a variety of settings, including the SJMC office and community locations.
✓Important: This position is based at St Joseph Medical Center (SJMC) and requires regular community-based work. This is not a remote position.
Two (2) to five (5) years of related or internship experience preferred.

About the role
The Community Health Specialist supports the development and implementation of community health strategies, programs, and initiatives across UMMS. Based at St. Joseph Medical Center (SJMC), this role works both in the office and throughout the community to support outreach efforts, community partnerships, events, and health initiatives.
