✓Ability to read and write in order to review and maintain patient medical record charts, and perform basic mathematic calculations as well as ability to operate standard office equipment as a level normally acquired through completion of high school.

✓Under general supervisor, preps, scans, and validates all types of paper documents into optical scanning system to obtain chart completion.
✓Scans & validates all loose reports that are sent to the department.
✓Assures that guidelines of HIPAA are followed to reduce the hospital’s potential liability in releasing records or protected health information.
✓Responsible to perform other duties as assigned and needed.
✓Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3 years of job-related experience
✓Prior job title or occupational experience: Medical Office
✓Must be able to work independently in a medical office setting.
✓Problem-solving abilities and basic analytical skills necessary.
✓Must possess excellent organizational skills.
✓Ability to type accurately at acceptable levels of speed.
✓Strong verbal and written communication skills.
✓Interpersonal skills required to effectively communicate, understand, interact, and respond to patients, physicians, and other personnel when obtaining and supplying routine factual medical record information via telephone or direct personal contacts on a daily basis.
