Prepares both hot and cold food for patients, employees and visitors.
Adheres to standardized recipes. Produces quantities according to department needs in a timely manner. Suggest ideas to maximize the use of leftovers in a cost effective manner.
Working knowledge of equipment and utensils. Maintains and cleans equipment and utensils and reports equipment in need to repair. Follows standards of regulatory agencies.
Cleans and sanitizes work areas and equipment making sure that sanitizer is at the proper strength. Follows temperature and infection control standards of the department. Communicates with supervisor and staff to complete assigned task.
Completes records accurately and thoroughly and in a timely manner. Assists with training of co-workers adhering to department procedures. Documents progress of employees and provides feedback.
Education/Experience High School Graduate or equivalent Preferred 2 years’ experience in food preparation and/or volume feeding operations preferably in health care setting.
