You’ll need
Certifications
✓Elementary school graduation through the eighth grade, plus a formal course in basic cooking principles, and a New York City Department of Health Food Protection Course Certificate
Education
✓A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, experience and training
Qualifications
✓Two years of full-time, paid experience as a Cook
✓Ability to read and write English and to understand and carry out instructions.

Apportions servings and preparesApportions servings and prepares or directs the preparation and distribution of food to serving areas in accordance with departmental standards
Inspects foods and meatsInspects foods and meats in work and storage areas for compliance with storage, safety and sanitary standards
