Courier - RB - PRN - Shift 1

Procures and delivers supplies, specimens and equipment between the Northwest Alabama Health Care affiliates. Responsibilities Responsibilities Performs lab courier services to our clients; securing specimens in a timely manner. Assures that all required billing information as well as correct samples are provided before leaving the office.

Acts as liaison between physician offices and department director assuring that problems and concerns are handled appropriately. Develops a strong communication link between the lab and physician client. Fills supply orders using approved policies.

Orders test and labels tubes with minimal errors. Performs requisition checking to assure correctness and completion. Takes copies of requisitions to admitting in a timely manner.

Qualifications Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Previous office work with knowledge of computer/word processing applications preferred. Material Management experience preferred. Previous experience helpful.

Additional Skills/Abilities: Must have a valid state driver’s license. Must be at least 18 years of age or as required by the hospital insurance carrier. Above average communication skills.

Computer or typewriter experience helpful.
