Qualifications
✓Kern County Accreditation or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
✓Minimum three years of paramedic experience in a busy 911 setting
✓Experience managing unstable adult cardiac patients and unstable patients of other etiologies
✓Experience managing patients requiring mechanical ventilator support and invasive hemodynamic monitoring
✓Valid Driver’s License
✓Required ICS courses: IS-100B (ICS 100), IS-200B (ICS 200), IS-700A (NIMS), and IS-800B (NIMS)
✓Ability to assess, plan, organize, implement, and evaluate patient care activities
✓Ability to function independently, prioritize, delegate, and use critical thinking skills in a variety of patient care situations
✓Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
✓Must weigh less than 215 pounds fully dressed at the time of hire and maintain that weight
✓Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in the English language
✓Must be able to put into practice Service Excellence skills with patients, families, coworkers, and the community
