You’ll need
Certifications
✓BLS certification required or must be completed within the first two weeks of employment.
National Association of Health Unit Coordinators credential. preferred
Education
High School graduate or equivalent. preferred
Qualifications
✓Ability to type and manage stress through effective communication and multitasking.
✓Ability to deal understandingly and tactfully with ill patients and their families.
✓Ability to maintain working relationships with Associates.
✓Primary – required (routine) to do the job
✓Secondary – required for the job, but mostly be exception; and
Medical terminology, business communication, and experience with computers. preferred
Infection Control: Initial and Ongoing training in dealing with infection control. Trainings could include but are not limited to, blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids and bio hazardous materials as it applies to your daily work environment. preferred
Patient Interaction: Frequent preferred
HIPAA: This position will have access to the following Protected Health Information in order to carry out the duties related to their position at Hays Medical Center based on the following criteria: preferred

Provides clerical support to the unit with the use of office equipment including telephone, computer, call light system, instant messaging services, wireless communication, pneumatic tube station and intercom.
