In this role, you will support substance use recovery and mental health research and evaluation projects for the Housing expansion for access to recovery for Texans (HEART) initiative funded by the Texas Opioid Abatement Council. Utilizing analytical and data management tools, the analyst will perform intermediate-level data creation, management, analysis of large and small datasets, and troubleshooting activities in support of multiple research projects and studies.

Working with the UTH CoLab, the Data Management Analyst will support substance use recovery and mental health research and evaluation projects for the Housing expansion for access to recovery for Texans (HEART) initiative funded by the Texas Opioid Abatement Council. Utilizing analytical and data management tools, performs intermediate level data creation, management, analysis and troubleshooting activities in support of multiple research projects and studies.
Performs statistical analyses associated with research projects. The UTH CoLab is a multidisciplinary research team led by faculty at the University of Texas Health Center for Health Promotion and Prevention Research (CHPPR). The CoLab advances equitable mental health and substance use solutions through research, evaluation, education, workforce development, program innovation, and community-driven partnerships.
Position Key Accountabilities: Responsible for managing/maintaining data for multiple projects or research efforts. Creates, supports, and troubleshoots tools or software used to manage data. Performs statistical analyses from both large and small samples of data.
Develops and maintains quality controls for all research databases. Designs database queries and compiles, analyzes, and reports statistical data for research projects. Interfaces with vendors and offsite researchers and coordinators.
Performs other duties as assigned. Preferred Certification/Skills: Knowledge of substance use disorder recovery, recovery support services, or behavioral health systems Proficiency in statistical and data analysis software (e.g., SAS, SPSS, Stata, R, Python, or similar platforms). Strong database management and data quality assurance skills.
Ability to interpret, analyze, and communicate complex quantitative information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience creating reports, dashboards, and data visualizations. Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines across concurrent projects. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment. Minimum
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field required. May substitute required education with equivalent years of experience beyond the minimum experience requirement. Minimum
3 years of experience with complex databases required May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement. Two (2) years of experience conducting statistical analyses and presenting findings through reports, dashboards, presentations, or publications, preferred. Experience working with substance use recovery, behavioral health, mental health, or related fields, preferred.
Experience supporting research, program evaluation, quality improvement, or academic initiatives, preferred. Physical
