Education and Work
High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related
Preferred Proof of completion after 120 days of continuous employment: A board-approved course in the Dental Practice Act (California) and a board-approved 8-hour course in infection control: Required Licenses/Certifications: Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) in state of practice: Preferred Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required Facility Specific License/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
Sterilizes and disinfects instruments and equipment. Prepares treatment rooms, instruments and tray setups for dental procedures. Greets and prepares patients for treatment.
Exposes, develops and mounts dental radiographs. Assists the dentist during examinations and treatment procedures. Conducts work in compliance with office policies and procedures, safety and OSHA guidelines.
Participates in the achievement of patient satisfaction and office production goals. Provides patient education materials. Maintains an appropriate office environment.
