Primary Purpose Responsible for carrying out the operational responsibilities of data analysis and reporting functions for assigned area. Organizes and maintains departmental data to ensure that computerized systems provide needed functions on a timely and accurate basis. Minimum Specifications Education -Must have a High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience - Must have one (1) year of experience in analysis of healthcare or business-related data and information systems, plus - Must have five years of office or related experience to include three years of personal computer experience with advanced data base and spreadsheet software. Equivalent Education and/or Experience Certification/Registration/Licensure - None Required Tests for Placement - None Skills or Special Abilities - Must have effective written and oral communication skills. - Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of program evaluation methods statistical analysis, research skills, management information systems, and strategic planning. - Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in personal computer usage. - Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge with regard to the software application used in the assigned area. - Must have the ability to convey ideas and communicate effectively and to clearly present concepts - Must be customer service oriented.
Responsibilities -Receives data from various sources, acts upon data as appropriate. Collects data for trending and identification of potential system errors and acts or alerts team members for resolution. Reviews data for reasonableness and accuracy, using knowledge and experience. -Analyses and reconciles database entries to ensure accurate records for departmental use.
Processes corrections as necessary. -Generates and distributes routine and periodic reports for management, vendors, and/or other hospitals on statistical information, demographics, and trends, etc. to ensure that consistent and accurate information is being provided to the community. - Requests and communicates with department staff regarding data requirements, data needs, the preparation of data analysis reports and follow-up concerning deadlines and priorities to ensure department data needs are revised and up to date. - Maintains status of assigned tasks and provides feedback to management to ensure proper priorities are maintained and that management is aware of project issues.
Completes data updates timely to maintain operational efficiency. - Maintains a positive working relationship with customers, management, vendors, and other hospital employees to ensure an open/friendly environment for effective communication and sharing of database information. - Entering and maintaining employee master data into Spok Amcom, including selecting and enabling appropriate paging device types, understanding the actions needed when uploads have errors. - Maintenance of ERMS referral system as needed, including users, sites, forms, and guidelines within Eceptionist.

Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements, and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and Parkland. -Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional organizations, and/or maintaining certification or licensure.
Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices. -Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines that impact the area. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding.
