✓Requirements
Licensure
✓We are looking for a board-certified or board-eligible Dermatologist with strong clinical skills, a commitment to high-quality patient care, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
✓A current license to practice medicine in the State of Hawai'i is required.
✓The physician must be duly licensed as a Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy and must be approved for Active Staff membership and clinical privileges on the Medical Staff of the Hospital in accordance with the Hospital's Medical Staff bylaws and Rules and Regulations.
✓Current registration with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and a current State Controlled Substance license from the State of Hawai'i Department of Public Safety's Narcotics Enforcement Division (NED) are mandatory.
✓Board certification or board eligibility in Dermatology by an appropriate certifying organization must be obtained within three (3) years of employment unless specifically exempted by the Regional Chief Executive Officer (RCEO).
Certifications
✓A current certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) in Basic Life Support (adults, child, infant, etc.) for Healthcare Workers is required
✓Eligibility for applicable federal and state provider credentials and payer enrollment.
✓Applicable checks may include, but are not limited to, state and federal criminal history records, child abuse and neglect registry check, adult protective services registry and sex offender registry records, etc. If a job offer is made or employment is begun prior to completion of all applicable ch
Education
✓Graduation from an accredited medical or osteopathic school with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree; AND
✓Completion of a residency program accredited by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
Qualifications
✓The physician is also required to maintain Active Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges at the Hospital throughout the term of this Agreement
✓Applicants must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under the federal law for unrestricted employment and at the time of appointment intend to reside in the State of Hawaii during the course of employment with the Hawaii Health Systems Co
✓VETERAN’S PREFERENCE: If you are claiming Veteran’s Preference, you must submit a copy of your DD214 and/or other substantiating documents specifying the periods of your service.
A current, valid State of Hawai'i type #3 driver's license is preferred
Experience providing comprehensive outpatient dermatology care, along with a background in working in a rural, community health, or medically underserved setting, demonstrates a strong commitment to developing specialty services and improving access to dermatologic care. preferred
