✓Bachelor’s Degree | Dietetics | Required
Qualifications
✓Counsels patients/clients individually with a wide variety of disease-specific needs as appropriate for age.
✓Teaches diet in services to food nutrition staff as needed.
✓Trains dietetic interns, as assigned.
✓Has basic computer skills and knowledge.
✓Demonstrates nutrition care competency with assigned populations eg. Infants, children, adolescent, adult, geriatrics
✓Uses the breadth of the facility’s, department’s, and area resources to solve patient-care problems.
✓Knowledgeable about and adheres to current regulatory-agency standards in area of practice.
✓Interprets and utilizes current nutrition and medical research and changes practice accordingly.
✓Adheres to NMHS's mission, vision & values regarding quality patient care and customer service.
✓Self starter, works independently, balances a variety tasks.
✓Prioritizes work; demonstrates teamwork, works with FNS staff to meet patient’s/resident’s nutritional needs.
✓Take call with CDM to ensure adequate coverage in the Food services Department
✓Frequent contact with internal & external customers; ie: patients /residents, visitors, Medical staff, Nurses, other healthcare professionals, FNS staff and dietetic interns.
✓Works cooperatively with fellow team members to ensure positive and productive work atmosphere.
✓Effectively and professionally consults with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, speech pathologists and other health care providers on alternate choices of medical nutrition therapy as appropriate.
✓Regularly recognizes and acknowledges staff for a job well done.
✓Reflects a positive, caring attitude toward all patients, staff and the public.
✓Resolves customer complaints and consumer questions appropriately and effectively.
✓Demonstrates adherence to NMHS’ Mission, Vision and Values Statement and to Service Excellence Standards.
