Certifications
✓Adult CPR, First Aid and Mandatory Dependent Adult Abuse certification.
✓Successful completion of a Medication Management course that is approved by the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals and/or HCBS, within six-months of hire.
Education
✓High School diploma or GED Required. Associate’s Degree in Social Services or related field preferred.
Qualifications
✓Maintain a valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
✓Ability to speak, read and write fluent English.
✓Ability to read and comprehend common terminology of the mental health field.
✓Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
✓Must possess good interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure.
✓Ability to remain emotionally neutral when intervening with clients.
✓Ability to establish and maintain boundaries with clients.
✓Must enjoy working with people.
✓Support and abide by departmental and agency policies and procedures. Perform job in safe manner, insuring safety for self, team members and residents. Perform other duties as assigned.
