The Director of Human Resources for HH-TOC, the Orthopaedic Center, directs, plans, develops, implements, and oversees all Human Resources programs to include employment, employee relations and retention, talent acquisition and on-boarding, record management, and HR specific training and career development programs. The HR Director should be an employee advocate, identifying ways to increase staff morale and satisfaction.
Advises leadership in policy and on program matters, making or recommending appropriate decisions. Originates human resource practices and policies to provide a balanced program through HH The Orthopaedic Center departments and locations. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including The Joint Commission.
Manage and supervise the HR Department, build upon current strengths of the department. Lead senior leadership in developing human resource strategies. Responsibilities Directs the strategic planning process for departments under direct supervision.
Operates within budget for the department. Maintains current knowledge of TJC standards and assists department with meeting those requirements. Oversees employment, employee relations and retention, talent acquisition and on-boarding, record management, and HR specific training and career development programs.
Continuously evaluates department process to improve quality of service. Oversees the current department standards and procedures. Responds to physicians, administration, and other departments on matters concerning departments under direct supervision.
Enforces health system/department policies and procedures. Selects, hires, orients, counsels, evaluate HR staff as needed. Maintains appropriate staffing levels in order to accommodate department and health system management and employee needs.
Manages Workers Compensation process and alternate duty placements. Member of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee and Employee Recognition Committee. Investigate, manage, and resolve employee relation issues.
Ensure organizational compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws. and regulations, including but not limited to FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and EEO. Partner with legal counsel as needed on complex employee matters. Lead the annual performance and compensation review process.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field required. Master’s degree in human resources or related field preferred.
5 - 7 years of progressive management experience in Human Resources required. Education and other HR experience may substitute for Management experience. Experience in HR management in healthcare setting preferred.
Expanded Experties: Ability to collaborate directly with physicians and other professionals on their human resources needs. Excellent organization and time management skills. Must be able to multi-task and prioritize meeting frequent deadlines.
Exhibit diplomacy and foster teamwork. Must be able to build collaborative relationships. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Professional certification in a Human Resources related field preferred. SHRM-CP / PHR or SHRM-SCP/SPHR
