✓Requirements
Licensure
✓Board-certified by appropriate certifying agency (i.e. American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics) in Clinical Cytogenetics and/or Clinical Molecular Genetics, or Laboratory Genetics and Genomics.
✓Must meet educational and either board-certified or board-eligible (with the expectation that boards are passed within 2 cycles).
Education
✓Knowledge of laboratory medicine practices, research theory, and technical personnel management generally gained by completing a Ph.D. in biomedical science with a minimum of a two-year post-doctoral training program.
Qualifications
✓Analytical ability necessary to participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and budgets as well as review of research proposals.
✓Strong written and verbal communication skills to create clinical and research proposals as well as the administration of grant-funded projects.
✓Interpersonal skills needed to provide effective leadership to subordinate personnel and to interact effectively with internal and external sources, including physicians, genetic counselors, nursing, research, and other hospital personnel.
