Licensure
✓Management (CPHRM) or current license and registration to practice as a Professional Nurse, Nurse
✓However, all candidates must be licensed and currently registered to practice as a Professional Nurse in New York State
Certifications
✓Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk
Education
✓Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Risk Management, Health Administration
✓Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in fields, as described in “1” above, and four (4)
✓Bachelor’s degree in the disciplines as described in “1” above
✓all incumbents must have at least a bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of responsible administrative
✓A Master's Degree in Nursing Administration, Public Administration, Public Health or Health Care Specialization or an equivalent field and a minimum of six years of satisfactory nursing experience, of which two years shall have been in a supervisory, teaching or administrative capacity
Qualifications
✓Business Administration or in a related health care specialization, and three (3) years of experience in risk
✓management, control, and prevention, leading and implementing quality and risk management programs
✓managing and analyzing risk data, and performing other functions related to risk management in a hospital or
✓a health care setting, one (1) year of which must have been in a responsible administrative, managerial or
✓supervisory capacity
✓years of risk management experience, as described in “1” above, two (2) years of which must have been in
✓a responsible administrative, managerial or supervisory capacity
✓and two (2) years of clinical, patient care or
✓equivalent experience in a hospital or health care setting, plus two (2) years of related experience, as listed in
✓“1” above, one (1) year of which must have been in a responsible administrative, managerial or supervisory
✓A satisfactory equivalent of education, training, and/or experience.
✓Practitioner or other similar clinical designation, may be substituted for one (1) year of experience, however
✓managerial or supervisory experience, as described in “1” above.
