• The Director of Radiology at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for the administrative and technical management of the Radiology Department to provide quality patient care. This role involves administrative duties, budget oversight, serving as a liaison between staff, preparing and presenting reports, ensuring compliance with radiation standards and regulations, and adhering to organizational policies and procedures. As a director, this role provides strategic leadership, goal-setting, and operational management for a department or function, contributing to the overall organizational success. JOB FUNCTIONS Administrative Duties:
• Prepares and coordinates meetings and activities of Radiology staff and department.
• Responsible for the administrative and technical management of the department to provide quality patient care. Budget :
• Oversees West Point Radiology Department budget development and supervises staff to maintain fiscal accountability of budget. Liaison :
• Serves as a liaison between staff (physicians, patients, and family members to ensure effective communication/interaction.
• Ensures high quality health care is delivered at the West Point Facility and Radiology Department by effectively interacting and cooperating with providers. Reporting :
• Prepares and presents operational and financial reports/projects as required. Regulation:
• Responsible for State, Local, and Federal radiation standards requirements.
• Adheres to NM I-IS/NMM C Policies/Procedures/Guidelines.
• Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statues. Knowledge Skills and Abilities
• Excellent organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills required
• Knowledge of health management policies, personnel management, and Joint Commission Standards
• Must have current CPR certification.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; required
• Reviews budget for all cost centers within scope of responsibility
• Develops annual goals and strategic initiatives for Radiology
• Evaluates and provides coaching for all employees within the scope of responsibility
• Assures compliance with productivity targets for all cost centers
• Assist in supervising student technologist/technician to ensure proper guidance during procedures as part of their training.
• Must have extensive contact with: patients, physicians, and all staff in the assigned product li ne /departments
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must reflect a positive, caring attitude toward clients, patients, staff and the public we serve
