Under moderate supervision by the Director of Cardiovascular Service Line, the Echovascular Tech promotes and maintains quality echo and vascular testing practices for the Cardiovascular Services. Exhibits the F. I.

, DUTIES AND
Performs 2D/M-mode and color Doppler echocardiograph, and Extracranial Cerebrovascular, Peripheral Vascular, Peripheral Vennous, and Visceral Vascular Testing. Maintains responsibility for attendance and punctuality to ensure department is operated in an efficient and cost effective manner. Demonstrates a commitment to the vision, mission, and goals of the Organization through application of guest relations principles.
Recognizes the importance of efficiency and cost effectiveness in providing services and supports the continuous effort to conserve resources while providing individualized high quality service. Ensures patient safety and documentation in the Echo/Vascular reporting system. Considers the age of the patient served, applies knowledge of growth and development and age-specific techniques over the life span in planning and implementing care.
Directs the performance improvement program for the Cardiovascular Lab, with required data entry for IAC Echo/Vascular certification. Complies and maintains current procedure protocols with appropriate test indications. Demonstrates a commitment to incorporating the core concepts of patient family centered care into practice (dignity, respect, information sharing, and participation).

WORKING CONDITIONS, HAZARDS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT: Works in patient areas. May be exposed to communicable diseases as well as blood, body fluids, or tissue. May be exposed to chemicals used from cleaning equipment.
Must be able to work under stress and be adaptable to new situations. May be subject to injury from strain of moving patients if proper techniques are not used. Must be able to move or position 25 lbs. independently.
Schedule will vary on rotating ten hour shifts four days/week. Call requirement for after shift and weekend procedures. CONTACTS WITH OTHERS: Medical Staff, Department Directors, Medical Director, Administration, Supervisors, Associates, Patients, Families, and Visitors.
EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Maintenance of current Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for HealthCare Workers or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification for HealthCare workers. Educated on and compliant with HIPAA regulations; maintains strict confidentiality of client information. Complies with Infection Control, Standard Precautions and OSHA standards for the healthcare professional.
Ability to work effectively within a role independently and with other team members.
