Certifications
✓Registered Cardiac Sonographer, credentials RDCS or RCS (New Graduate will have 6 months to pass registry), required.
Education
✓High School Diploma or GED, required.
2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred. Certification Program in lieu of Associate Degree accepted.
Graduate from a formal Cardiovascular Program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs, preferred.
Qualifications
✓Additional Skills: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
✓Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient(s)’ age.
✓Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient(s)’ requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs.
✓Considerable verbal ability to effectively communicate observations and input to nursing staff, physicians, and other department staff.
Two years of echocardiography experience, preferred.
