✓Requirements
Licensure
✓Successful sponsorship will require state licensure and completion of the VisaScreen or equivalent certification.
✓A candidate for the position of ECMO Specialist must have a minimum of one year ICU or Critical Care experience as a Registered Nurse or Respiratory Therapist.
✓Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
✓Current Minnesota Respiratory Therapist (LRT) license.
Certifications
✓Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
✓Additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
Qualifications
✓Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
✓Experience working in a team environment.
✓Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
✓Ability to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends.

✓Demonstrated leadership, effective communicator, and excellent critical thinking skills.

About the role

The ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) Specialist operates and maintains the ECMO circuit and equipment for patients requiring long-term pulmonary or cardiac support. The Specialist functions independently following standing ECMO orders and parameters while under the direction of the ECMO Physician and ECMO Coordinator.
