The Electroconvulsive (ECT) Assistant performs designated direct and indirect age-specific and developmentally appropriate patient care under the direct supervision of the ECT Relief Registered Nurse(RN) and ECT Manager; arranges all communications and activities related to patient care; performs secretarial and clerical aspects of patient care; participates in development of interdisciplinary treatment plan; follows policies, protocols, techniques, and guidelines; utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize customer service, safety, and professionalism; contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient and visitor population.

Successful completion of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program or completion of School of Nursing Fundamentals preferred. Minimum six months experience as a nursing assistant experience preferred. Minimum one year of experience in a hospital and/or acute psychiatric setting preferred.
Knowledge and
Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position; operate and troubleshoot patient care equipment required for the position; perform basic patient care activities using proper body mechanics and safety precautions. Licensures and
Basic life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association required. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred. Completion of a Managing Assaultive Behavior (MAB) course required within ninety days and annual recertification.
