✓Currently licensed as a Patient Care Technician (CPCT-A), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in the state of Missouri.

Certifications

✓Current AHA or Red Cross BLS required.

Education

✓High school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

✓This individual should be knowledgeable regarding growth and development and assessing the physical and psychological needs of patients in the following stages of life: neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

✓Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work within the established policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the hospital/clinic.

Minimum of six (6) months direct patient care experience preferred.

Description PURPOSE STATEMENT Under close supervision, provides technical support for physicians and nurses in the Emergency Department.

Perform phlebotomy. Perform 12 lead EKGs. Transport patients to other departments.

Place patients on cardiac and vital sign monitor. Perform Point of Care Testing. Obtain lab specimens and documents all care/procedures provided.

Clean equipment and workspace. Order/stock department supplies. Clerical unit tasks as required/requested.

Demonstrate positive customer service relations. Routinely participates in QI projects and encourages department to continuously improve. Assist co-workers as needed/requested.

Support the Medical Center’s Mission/Vision/Philosophy positively. Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Perform other essential duties as assigned.

Requirements EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent. PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to sit and stand, intermittent 8 to 10 hours a day. Must be able to use standard office equipment, including the telephone and computer keyboard. Continuously works under pressure of near 100% accuracy while meeting inflexible deadlines.

Continuously utilizes manual/bi-manual dexterity, near vision, speech, and hearing. Frequently stands, walks, sits and utilizes eye/hand coordination and color definition. Occasionally reaches above shoulder, regularly required to lift and/or carry up to 35 lbs.

Occasionally walks on uneven surfaces.
