Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities Skilled at meeting corporate and state educational goals and requirements for educational program Provides for educational needs including individualized lesson plans which are based on age, diagnosis, and population of students.
Liaison with county Board of Education to handle all issues related to student enrollment, transfer of grades and state testing. RPH representative for Corporate Education including developing annual education plan, providing Best in Class reports and other required corporate information. Provides educational progress reports to the treatment team, parents/guardians, and school systems as needed.
Capable of utilizing crisis intervention skills to support the patient and to maintain safety. Schedules and mentors RPH teachers to ensure county educational standards are provided within the PRTF programs. Capable of providing patient safety initiatives such as performing observation rounds, incident management, and management of high-risk precautions.
Accurately documents on the treatment plan illustrating patient progress or need for additional education, problem or intervention identification. Schedules and leads quarterly meetings with teachers to appropriately plan for PRTF educational services. Specialized Skills and Knowledge (List the minimum required specific knowledge and skills necessary to perform this job.
(e.g., basic accounting principles, computer programming, spreadsheets, specific healthcare processes, etc. Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to read, write and speak the English language. 5.
Ability to effectively present information in one-to-one and small group situations to patients, families, treatment providers, and other employees. WV certified teacher Basic experience with general clerical skills, including computer, fax machine, telephone, copier. 6. Must be able to function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with patients, personnel, and support agencies.
Must be willing to provide services to a diverse population, including varying levels of physical and cognitive functioning, 7. Must be willing and able to work as an effective team member with other members of the hospital staff. Must be able to become proficient at using computer systems to facilitate patient care including eMR and email systems. 8.
Must demonstrate professionalism and abide by the hospital’s values and ethical principles of the applicable licensing board.
