✓Requirements
Licensure
✓Current licensure as a Registered Nurse as approved by the Tennessee Board of Nursing for practice in the state of Tennessee.
Certifications
✓BLS certification must be obtained within the orientation period, and certification must be kept current while in this position.
✓In Critical Care areas, ACLS certification must be obtained within the first year of employment, and certification must be kept current.
✓Additional certifications may be required at department’s discretion.
✓Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
In other areas, ACLS is preferred.
Certification in area of clinical expertise by recognized authoritative agency desirable. preferred
Education
✓Completion of a diploma, associate, or baccalaureate degree in nursing required.
✓Skill and proficiency in the principles, concepts, and techniques of the nursing profession as normally acquired through the completion of a diploma, associate, or baccalaureate degree in nursing.
Qualifications
✓2 years of critical care experience required, 5 or more years of experience preferred
✓Knowledge of policies and procedures of the hospital and completion of skills check sheet for designated areas as acquired through 3 month probationary period.
✓Must be able to demonstrate EKG proficiency.
✓Must demonstrate critical thinking, effective communication skills, problem-solving abilities, customer service, collaboration, time management skills and telehealth computer program literacy.
Basic computer skills preferred.
