Perform advanced-level electrical work to maintain and extend the service life of hospital facilities, utilities, and infrastructure. Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial electrical distribution systems. Maintain and service switchgear, motor control centers, emergency generator sets, and transfer switch equipment.
Diagnose and resolve issues with A/C equipment and related electrical components. Apply life safety, electrical, and building codes in all work performed. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical service manuals.
Utilize electrical testing devices to ensure safe and accurate system performance. Support a safe work environment and respond to urgent facility needs during on-call rotations. Travel as needed to local facilities to provide support What We're Looking ForEducationHigh school diploma or GED required.
Two-year vocational, technical, or trade education in an electrical field required, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. A three-year electrical apprenticeship program may be accepted in lieu of technical/trade education. ExperienceMinimum of five years of experience in commercial electrical distribution system installation and maintenance required.
Equivalent experience in a related field combined with a three-year electrical apprenticeship may be considered.
Healthcare facility experience highly preferred. Knowledge of mechanical equipment operation and repair. Proficiency with personal computers and common PC software applications.
LicensureA city/county journeyman's card and/or an electrician's license from state of employment, required. Valid NC Drivers LicensePhysical RequirementsAbility to lift, push, pull, bend, stretch, and perform medium to heavy physical work. Ability to kneel for extended periods.
Ability to climb ladders and work at heights and in confined spaces. Manual dexterity required to safely operate tools and equipment. Ability to hear and recognize changes in equipment and machine operation.
