Radiologic Technologist Certified by the state of Ohio to practice and administer radiation Understanding of aseptic technique Job Overview: The EP Radiology Technologist will work under the guidance of the director and the cardiologist to perform a range of invasive cardiac procedures.
They are responsible for implementing patient safety protocols and supporting physicians during Electrophysiology lab procedures. This includes operating imaging equipment, administering necessary medications within their scope of practice, and closely monitoring patients throughout the procedure. Additionally, the technologist must safely operate x-ray equipment in accordance with their radiologic training and scope of practice.
They will also participate in performance improvement activities, educational initiatives, and national registries. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Must possess strong independent assessment, judgement, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the ongoing evaluation, documentation, and care of patients and families a. Monitors patients during procedures to assess their vital signs and respond to complications or changes in condition. b. Documents all procedures accurately and thoroughly in the patient’s medical records, including accurately capturing procedural charges. c. Provides for patient, family, and staff comfort and care prior to, during, and after a procedure. Recognizes and responds appropriately to emergent situations. Clinical/Technical Quality: Able to proficiently perform diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures and their associated equipment through completion of competency-based education. a. Maintain a sterile field during procedures by adhering to stringent infection control protocols and ensuring all equipment and supplies are properly handled or discarded. b. Assist physicians in performing imaging procedures on patients with the use of specialized equipment providing support and guidance as needed. c. Assist in patient care pre, intra, and post procedure Demonstrates organizational responsibility a. Accountable for satisfactory attendance. b. Fiscally responsible including supply management and timekeeping activities. Participates in unit quality assurance and quality control activities. a. Compliant with daily equipment checks and patient safety protocols. b. Accountable for radiation safety including monitoring radiation exposure levels.
