The Emergency Department Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) serves as a vital member of the healthcare team, supporting nurses, physicians, patients, and families through both direct patient care and administrative support activities. In this role, you'll assist with patient care needs, facilitate communication, perform clerical duties, and help ensure efficient operations within a fast-paced emergency care environment.
Work
4 shifts per week Hours: 8:00 PM to 2:00 AM Includes weekends and holidays Schedule may vary based on business needs A Day in the Life of As an Emergency Department CNA , you'll work alongside registered nurses and providers to deliver compassionate, high-quality care to patients. You'll assist with admissions, transfers, discharges, and delegated patient care activities while collecting and documenting patient information.
You'll help maintain accurate patient records, prepare charts, answer phones, communicate with patients and families, and coordinate with other departments to support seamless patient care. Throughout the day, you'll balance direct patient care responsibilities with unit support functions. You'll monitor patient needs, assist nurses with procedures and treatments, transport medications as appropriate, complete documentation, and ensure patient confidentiality.
Your ability to adapt to changing priorities and work collaboratively with the healthcare team will help create a safe, caring, and efficient emergency department environment. Qualifications Must be at least 16 years of age Current Nebraska Nursing Assistant certification required American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Ability to provide compassionate patient care while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Why Regional West?
